Privacy Policy
How this website handles personal information, and what we do with anything you send us through it.

What this covers. This policy is about this website. If you become a client, how we handle your records is set out in the engagement letter we agree with you before any work starts — that document governs the working relationship, not this page.
Who we are
Ghumman Advisory Group Ltd., an Alberta corporation based in Calgary. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@ghummanadvisory.ca, or by post at 113 Walden Mews SE, Calgary, AB T2X 0S8.
What we collect
Information you choose to give us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you provide one (it is optional), the service you selected, and whatever you write in the message. If you book an intro call, we receive your name, email address, phone number and the time you picked.
Information collected automatically. When the contact form is submitted, our server also records the IP address the submission came from, the country associated with it, your browser’s user-agent string, and the date and time. We record this to help identify automated spam.
What we do not do. This website uses no analytics, no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network and no session-recording tool on this site, and it sets no cookies of its own. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, in any circumstances.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare a quote, to arrange a call, and to keep a record of what was discussed. We do not use it for anything else, and we will not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
Who else handles it
Running a website means using service providers. These are the ones that touch information you send us:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores contact-form submissions on our behalf.
- Resend — delivers the notification email when the form is submitted.
- Apple iCloud — hosts the mailbox that receives it.
- Cal.com — handles intro-call bookings and calendar availability.
These providers operate outside Canada. Information you send through this website may be stored or processed in other countries, including the United States, and while it is there it may be accessible to the courts and law-enforcement authorities of those countries. We mention this because Canadian privacy law expects you to be told, not because we expect it to happen.
Client records
Records we hold for actual client work are handled separately from this website. We keep them on systems we control, and where we use third-party software we prefer providers that store data in Canada. If that changes, we will say so here and in your engagement letter.
How long we keep it
Contact-form submissions are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Email correspondence is kept as part of our business records. Records relating to client work are kept for at least six years, which is the retention period the Canada Revenue Agency expects for tax records.
Fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google receives your IP address in doing so. No cookie is set and nothing you type is involved.Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions travel encrypted, and access to the mailbox and stored submissions is limited to the two of us. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise. Please do not send sensitive material — social insurance numbers, banking details or tax documents — through the contact form. If you need to send us documents, ask first and we will tell you how.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to our holding it. Email info@ghummanadvisory.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles personal information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. We will not apply a change retroactively to information already collected without telling you.

Everything here is general information about what we do. It is not accounting, tax, financial or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation. Tax rules change, they apply differently to different people, and something that is right for one business can be wrong for another.
Reading this site, filling in the contact form or booking a call does not make you a client. No client relationship exists until we have agreed the work in writing and you have accepted an engagement letter.
What we are, and what we are not
We provide bookkeeping, payroll, personal tax preparation, and corporate tax and year-end preparation.
We are not Chartered Professional Accountants. Neither principal currently holds a CPA designation, we are not registered with CPA Alberta, and nothing on this site should be read as claiming otherwise. We do not perform audits, reviews or any other assurance engagement, and we cannot issue an audit or review report. Where your situation needs a designated professional, we will tell you and help you find one.
Pricing
This site does not publish prices. What your work costs depends on its scope and condition, so we give you a fixed price in writing before any work begins, and that quote is the price.
Mortgage services
Mortgage services are provided through The Mortgage Group, a licensed Alberta mortgage brokerage, at ghummanmortgage.ca. Ghumman Advisory Group Ltd. is not a mortgage brokerage and does not provide mortgage brokerage services. Those services are governed by that brokerage’s own terms, not by these.
Our content
The text, design, logo and images on this site belong to Ghumman Advisory Group Ltd. You are welcome to read them, print them and share links. Please do not copy them for use in your own business or reproduce them commercially without asking.
Links to other websites
This site links to services we use, such as our booking page, and to ghummanmortgage.ca. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Availability and accuracy
We try to keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be either. Information may become out of date — tax figures and deadlines especially. Always confirm anything you intend to act on.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or from relying on information on it. This does not limit any liability that cannot legally be limited, and it does not affect the terms of an engagement letter if you become a client — that agreement governs our work, and this paragraph does not reduce our responsibilities under it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there.

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed.
